Emory Residency Program--your experience?

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

I am very interested in pursuing a career with Emory, as I've had some of my clinical experiences there and have really liked it so far. My question is: what is the new graduate residency program like? Were you able to chose what floor and for what shift you wanted to apply for when you applied for the program?

Any pros and cons of the residency program (hours worked vs pay, stuff like that) would be greatly appreciated. I graduate soon and am trying to network as best I can with hospitals in the Atlanta area.

Thanks in advance for your help! :)

Yeah I am thinking that after the 10th they will too. Hopefully it is all good news :)

They sent an email saying they will contact people in about 2-3 weeks. Hopefully all good news for us! So just curious but what else did you guys submit with your resume and cover letter?

I didn't include anything other than CV/Resume.

I meant Cover letter and resume, not CV

Well I just completed my residency at Emory on the main campus. I loved it, but it was a long 6 month orientation. You are def prepared. No matter where you are eventually placed you float around to other units of the hospital to gain experience and network which is great for the future.

Starting pay is 23.04 and within 3 months I already recieved a raise.

Great place to work, and if you already have the questionaire, chances are they are going to hire you. Best of luck

Thanks for the info! What unit are you going to work on?

Thanks for the info! So not everyone gets the questionaire? I was thinking everyone received it who had applied. I applied to three other places within the last week and a half and have not heard anything? But people have told me they do go slower down here when it comes to jobs.

I was wondering because it had a page to upload other items so I was wondering if I uploaded too much.

I think we all did.!!

I'm wondering if out of state applicants are required to do an in person interview....

Anyone hear anything yet?
