CNA training in Gwinnett County area

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello all.

I have been searching for a CNA training program in my area for a while now. I finally found one today! I thought this would be a great way to gain some experience while pursuing my nursing degree. It is located in Gwinnett County. The company is called Metro Medical Training. Has anyone ever heard of it, or gained certification through them? If anyone is interested in contact information, I would be happy to post it.

That's great! I know that it's tough to find CNA training programs in GA. I found a website of CNA Programs through the Georgia Health Partnership.

It would be significantly cheaper for you to become a CNA at Georgia Perimeter College. Here is the link for you: http://www.gpc.edu/ce/catalog/courses.php?c=280

It's a 6 week course I believe. Keep in mind that CNAs are paid next to nothing.

Thanks for the link! Yes, after researching and asking around, I see just how little they make. The work seems to be very hard, so I don't understand why they are paid so little. I wonder if it's even worth it to get the training and work just to say I have some experience.

You don't need experience to get into nursing school. With a good science GPA and NET/TEAS/NLN score you can get in with little or no experience. If you still want experience beforehand, I would go the LPN route (Gwinnett Tech). It only takes a year and you can bridge to RN later on.
