Anyone go there for their prereqs? I'd love any advice/info you have on professors, classes, student support, financial aid, etc.

Thanks!

It's going on 2 or 3 weeks now since I went to Chat Tech and applied to the admissions office in person. I was told to call or email back in a week to setup an appt with an advisor. I called and emailed several people to no avail. I haven't heard a thing and I've been calling every other day trying to talk to someone about enrolling in my class(es) for the summer. I can't get a single person on the phone! For anyone who's gone there, is this normal? Classes start in less than a month and I don't even know if I'll be able to get into them. I wish now that I had applied to at least one other school so that I won't have to waste my summer semester by not taking any class(es). I have left voice mails on several different advisors and admissions people's phones, and have sent emails to these people. What is up with Chat Tech???

When I went there last year for my pre-reqs it was pretty simple..you go there to apply with your sealed transcript then just register online for the class you want. ..as far as getting anyone on the phone, it is almost next to impossible....

What info is needed to register for classes? I haven't received any packet, email, or anything telling me what I need to do.

You might want to go there in person. they do not really have the resources to send out stuff like thatconsidering its a small school.....To register online you will need your student ID number..when I went there last year, I filled out the admissions form, went to the admissions office with my transcript and an admissions decision was made on the spot...I then got my student ID # and registered that very evening online to the nursing pre-reqs I needed which was AP 1.....best of luck...

Thanks Rwan. Was the Student # emailed to you or was it in some paperwork they gave you? Is it simply your SSN? Also, where on their website would I go to register for classes? Thanks!

I was given the student ID once I was admitted. I belive it is computer generateo ..It is best to go there and get all this sorted out..it is impossible to get anyone on the phone...once you have the student ID, go to their website at chattcollege.com and click on the "banner web" to register..hope this helps

I also had the same problem trying to call and talk with someone but I guess it would be best to go in person. Can anyone confirm this...they only teach LPN classes correct...not RN course? Also their LPN class is for 12 months? Do they require pre-reqs before starting their LPN or RN classes?

Yes, they offer a one year program that enables you to take the LPN boards and next year they will be teaching a two year program that will enable you to take the RN boards. Both require pre-reqs which are offered at the school...

Finally...I finally got my advisor to contact me. In fact, I had 2 people call me today from Chat Tech. Mass emails do work wonders!:yeah: I sent out yet another email, but this time sent it to about 10 or so different people, including all the advisors and registrar people whose contact info I could find on the website. Gotta love search engines! My advisor says I HAVE to go to a 30-min advisor meeting, at which I'll be registered for classes. I asked if the meeting could be held over the phone or if I could go ahead and register then have the advisement, but she said no can do. My appt is Thurs morning so with luck I'll be registered by the end of the week. I'm ready to get this ball rolling!

I'm so glad you were able to get in contact with someone. I just wanted to let you know that when I had my appointment with an advisor at Chatt Tech she was really rude and tried to talk me out of taking A&P because only "the cream of the crop" make it into nursing school. I don't know what her problem was, but if someone says something like that to you, don't let it bother you!! Congrats on starting, and good luck!!!

Oh my, that's awful that an advisor would say something like that to anyone, let alone a student. But don't worry, I'm definitely not the type to listen to naysayers :-)

Hi Jennie, I was told the same thing, that everybody wants to go into nursing nowadays, and on the 1st day of AP 1 the teacher clearly told us that his job as a teacher in that class was to "weed us out"...and guess what we survived and made it to NS...BTW what school do you go to?
