Anyone know of any dialysis programs in GA that cater to LPN

U.S.A. Georgia

Hi Everyone, I have been a LPN for the past 3 years but I have homecare experience. I have just recently moved to GA and i want to get into the field of hemodialysis. I was wondering if anyone know of any dialysis programs in GA that cater to LPN certification as a CHN. There is a program in NY via online called Dialysis4careers and they claim that you will get employed but I am a bit skeptical about it. Then in Decatur, GA there is a progrm called "The World Outreach Medical Institute" they have a 9 week program that is fairly new for medical professions that I am skeptical about also. I just dont want to spend the money and not be able to get employed within the field. Help me out my fellow Nurses !!!

Hi, Griffin Technical has the Hemodialysis Tech program and so does Atlanta Tech, I was unable to reach anyone @ Atlanta Area but Griffin Tech has a one year waiting list. Both programs take about 3-4 months to complete. Hope this helps.

If I were you with your experience I would just apply right to the dialysis clinics. They offer pretty extensive training from what I have read. The two big ones are Fresenius and Davita. Can't hurt to try!

I know Fresenius definitely hires LPN's. I have worked with them at Grady Memorial Hospital when I was doing my clinicals there while in school.

Specializes in Dialysis.

I work for Davita and can tell you that dialysis certification is not required for nurses. They train you from start to finish so go ahead and just apply.

Specializes in PD,Nxstage,hemo.

Davita for sure!
