Any Kennesaw State Nursing Students Out There

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

I am currently taking pre-req at two different schools and I want to transfer to Kennesaw State in the Summer of 09 and finish taking my pre-reqs that I am missing and then apply to there nursing school. Can anyone tell me what there gpa and teas scores usually are when people get excepted as well as do you think I will have a problem transferring in to Kennesaw State with transcripts from two different schools. Thanks:yeah:

Hey! I applied to Kennesaw's Accelerated BSN Program to start in Summer 09. They have not sent out the acceptance letters yet, but I know that most peole who are accepted have at least an 80 or above on their TEAS score. (If you have a 90 or above i think that puts you at an advantage.) I know that it is crucial to get A's in at least 7 out of the 12 prereqs. Im sure that people have gotten in without 7 A's, but I know that it really puts you at an advantage. Also, they like it if you have had some previous experience with volunteering or something like that. In my interview that was a question they asked.

Well let me know if you have any more questions! I took all of my prereqs at Kennesaw so I can suggest some good teachers! Good Luck!

Thank you so much I truly appreciate it. Did you take your pre-reqs there or somewhere else?:)

No problem. Yes, I took all of my prereqs at Kennesaw State.

I have alot of questions I hope you don't mind:

1. How are the professors especially in the science department? and who should I take

2. What was your gpa while applying to the nursing program?

3. How did you prepare for the teas? How many hours a week and what did you score?

4. I have a 3.785 gpa but I also got this Fail on my transcript that still hasn't been taken off for a class that I had dropped two years ago but they don't have it on file. Do you think that will hurt my chances getting into Kennesaw state in general. I am trying to get the grade taken off my transcript but it is taking longer than usual and I am trying to apply for the summer session and with that fail it will drop my gpa to a 3.2. What should I do?

If you could please let me know these answers I would be so greatful I am truly lost.

one more question did you do any volunteer work?

Haha. That is fine. I did volunteer in the Summer of 2007 at Grady Hospital in the Trauma Center. I also volunteered in the Summer of 2008 at Health field Hospice in Marietta. The professors in the science department vary. It is really important to get a good one. What prereqs do you still need to take? I would recommend Dr. Jones for A&P and Dr. Griffin for Micro. My overall GPA is a 3.76. I do have 8 out of the 12 A's in the prereqs. I bought the sample test and study guide for the TEAS test. Honestly, I didn't study that much. I got an 83. I wish I would have studied more now that I have heard of several people getting 90 or above. I would defintely try to get the failing grade taken off if you can. It depends if it is in a prereq or not as to how much it will hurt you.

I hope I answered all of your questions. Let me know if you have anymore!

well the class is geology and I am trying to get if off but its hard because they say it will take up to six weeks and I need to have my application in by april 10 so I can start my in the summer at kennesaw state. All I need are my sciences courses and and one more math class and developmental psychology but I have english and the pre calculus and college math. I just want my gpa to be good enough so that I can get in to kennesaw state if i have to take that geology class over I will but i want to make sure that I get it. Do if it is hard to get in to the college in general.:yeah:

excuse the way I was missing words i know some sentences might not make since because i was typing so fast:D

I just took the TEAS on Wed and scored a 90.6%. I hope that puts me at an advantage b/c of the 10 pre-reqs I've taken so far only 3 are A's. All the rest are B's :p

how did you prepare for the test. I havent taken it yet... you will probably get in .. Good Luck

I basically just polished up my math and english skills online by doing some practice questions. I didn't buy the ATI prep test booklet. There's no real way to study for reading or science. You just have to know your stuff to get through those. Sorry, I'm probably not the best advice-giver on test-taking. :p

I hope you get in too, ladonnaw!
