hi, i am having a dilemma and i am hoping for some insite. first i will give you some background i am a mom to 3 kids 6, 3, and 2 yr old and work part time on weekends. i was preparing to apply to an adn program but with this semester starting i am seeing that my 2 younger children aren't as easy to get naps and bedtime out of as they were even last spring. so, my study time in limited. And i i know with NS you need to study alot more for that than the preqreq classes. so i was curious did any of you decide to go on and get your BSN rather than you ADN because of toddlers and them not understanding mommy has to study. if i do decide to go the other way everyone will be in school so i think that might make life a little easier? opinions please? thanks

Hi. I have 2 kids a 6 year old and an 8 year old.I am beginning a BSN program in January. Luckily, my kids will be in school for most of the day--but that is when I will be in school also! It is very tough to study with them around, but you can always do lots of stuff to keep them entertained while you study (before they go to bed for naps or night time) Put them on the back porch with flour 9baking flour and let them "cook" with dried cereal, mini marshmallows, choc. chips, etc...Do a toy swap with another friend- it makes the kids feel like they have new toys, but you just swap! Also, you didn't mention if you have a partner, husband or what have you to help you out. Even swap babysitting services with another mom. Church run- mom's day out also!! Lots of ideas-you can definitely do it!! Never forget that! Kelli

thanks for the ideas i do appreate it. i am married but my husband works alot of hrs and is in school as well. the whole everyone will be inschool thing was why i was considering holding out to go to a BSN program as well as that was my original plan. thanks again susan

I study during nap time. And the little guy takes a nap daily. Even if he doesn't actually sleep, I make him rest in his bed so I can have a little peace. I also study after they go to bed.

Today, I took my 3 yo to the mall and let him run around in a play area while I studied respiratory diseases!
