UNCG Priority Admissions

I am curious to find out about the UNCG priority admissions process. I have been told from my advisor that if you make it into the priority admissions category, your spot in the program is guaranteed. However, she has been known to make mistakes and give wrong answers so I am wondering if anyone else has applied into the program as a priority admissions student, and what your experience has been with this process.

Hi itsmedani, although I have not applied to UNCG via priority admission, I was given some information about it by an admissions counselor. From what I understand, if a student is a pre-nursing major at UNCG with an overall GPA of at least a 3.5 and a B or above in required courses--- I'm assuming the required courses are the nursing prerequisites--- (of course you have to also meet the CNA I requirement and take the TEAS), you are guaranteed a spot in the clinical phase. I am a second degree student so priority admission is not an option for me. I was told that the program typically has 25-30 students who are admitted via priority admission. After those students are admitted then all other applicants are pooled and ranked via GPA/TEAS score/grades. Those on the higher end of that ranking list get a clinical spot. I can't remember how many seats the UNCG nursing program has total. Congrats if you will be admitted via priority admission! I will be applying as a second degree student and I am praying that I will get a seat.
