I have one more hurdle before I walk away from micro... the dreaded group presentation which it has fallen upon me to script. Translation: I'm the one putting the facts together.
Now I'm not complaining about it because I'm not the creative one in the group and writing is my particular gift. It seems I also have the best understanding of the virus. The challenge is that I picked the wrong bug for the presentation. I chose hepatitis B. Word of warning to future micro students -- if you are asked to choose a term microbe to call your own for the semester, do not pick hepatitis B unless you like getting confused. It's not a retrovirus but it acts like one. It's sneaky and not all that well understood. The technical information available is like reading rocket science weekly and I swear it's not English.
Pick Influenza, Candida, anything but HBV.
