I currently have the TEAS Pre-Test Study Manual by ATI (ISBN: 1933107006) that I am using to study for the TEAS that I will be taking in March and want to know anyone else has used it? I'm tempted to buy another TEAS prep book just to make sure I'm really prepared for this test, I need to get a really good grade on it.

For anyone who has already taken the TEAS, was there a particular study guide that you felt prepared you for whatever one might see on the test?

That's the exact study manual I used, and it worked well for me. It was really good about going over the stuff that were on the actual exam, especially the mathematics part.

Same here, the one they provide is good enough.

Great! Thanks guys! I'll make sure to go everything in that study guide then and see where I'm at

If you haven't taken a break from school, then you probably are pretty familiar with most everything that's in there. I found the TEAS quite a bit simpler and not on the same level as the ACT/SAT. If you've been out of school for awhile then you're making it a lot easier on yourself to review by getting the study guide.

Either way, you'll do fine :)

That's the same study guide I used and it helped me feel comfortable with the material. I just took the TEAS 2 weeks ago and passed. I found that the on-line practice assessment you can buy on the ATI website helped me as well.

I'm sure you'll do really well on test. Good luck! :wink2:

Great! Thanks everyone! Just to make sure we are talking about the same guide though - this is not the yellow and black one they have on their website called Secrets to Passing the TEAS. This is a blue and purple paperback that I bought at my school bookstore.

I used the more general Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exams book and that worked well for me (I think it might even be cheaper than the specific ATI study guide). I've heard that the generalized books have more material, meaning stuff that won't be tested on, but it didn't take me that long to get through all of it. I just took my TEAS last Saturday and scored in the 99th percentile just using that book. I think it depends on your personal preference though, and it seems like most people use the ATI version.

Good luck to you! The TEAS really isn't that bad at all--for me it was a breeze. It's mostly just basics and how well you follow directions.

i took the teas on Feb 28th and studied my butt off only to end up failing the math and science. I took the online assesment and scored like a 90% on it, so i was confident i would do ok on the actual exam..NOT. The math and science was so far off base from what ATI has you study for. I have to pass each subtest w/ a 60% and an overall composite score of 60%, so needless to say I will be taking it again on March 28th and this time i have ordered the Kaplan book.. I will let everyone know how that works out for me:) From what i've seen on the post here, many swear by it.
