Taking Anatomy and Physiology Classes at the Same Time

I have 4 courses left after this semester before I can apply for nursing school. I'm trying to finish as soon as possible b/c I'm already 28 with kids so I need to get this done like 5 years ago. I'm considering taking Anatomy and Physio at the same time (Spring 2017) so that the following semester I can take Micro( A& P are prereqs obviously) and psychology (Fall 2017). This would allow me to apply for nursing school for the Fall of 2018. Is it possible to take both classes at once or are they too demanding?

Are you sure you A&P is a pre-requisite for Microbiology at your school? At mine, the only pre-req for Micro was Gen Bio 1.

To your question, it depends on what else you have going on and how easily you memorize things. I could easily have handled A&P 1 and 2 simultaneously, but 1 was a pre-req for 2 at my school. But I did take A&P 1, Microbio, and Psychology all at the same time, while working full time. I don't have kids, though.

Good luck to you, whichever decision you make!

Ah you are correct . A&P aren't prereqs. Don't know why I thought it was. í ¾í´”. My schedule is pretty packed but I figured nursing school wouldn't be any easier so I might as well prepare myself for it

A&P can be extremely difficult to take at the same time, I took them separate just to ensure I got an A in both classes, I am the same age as you and with 2 little ones. I really had to discipline myself so that I was able to focus on the subject and memorize the material, But if you're discipline and have good study habits, you can do it! I know the feeling of trying to finish everything so you can get into a program by a certain time, but be careful not to put too much on your plate and risk getting a low grade in the class then your desired program doesn't take repeats in your science classes. Good luck in which ever decision you make, you can do this!
