I started transition yesterday, in the ER, and I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never sat down for 8 1/2 hours.....lots of excitement....constant change.......at 3:25pm ....i didn't want to leave, i was afraid i was going to miss something!!!!!

At 3:30 pm I went up to Telemetry and after about 2hrs i knew.....it was not for me.....it reminded me of a nursing home....nurses hanging out at the nurses station b/c it was slow....NO MONITOR TECH it's catch a glimpse of your monitors and everyone elses if you can (kinda scary, when you think about)

SO NEEDLESS TO SAY, I HAVE ALREADY PLACED A CALL AND EXCEPTED THE ER POSTION... :roll

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR GREAT INPUT!!!!!

    :kiss

PS....my advice to all is....NEVER accept a position UNTIL you have SHADOWED a nurse on the unit for at lease 2-4 hours....then you will be better equiped to make the best decision for yourself...
