Some questions about the ACT

Was the ACT required for admission to your nursing program?

What was the minimum score required for admission?

What was your score?

Thanks in advance!!

The accelerated BSN program to which I applied did not require or request my ACT scores. However, this is a 2nd degree program.

The ASN program to which I applied uses a point system to determine admittance; out of 120 possible points, the ACT is worth up to 20 points (score of >= 28) with a reduction of 5 score points for every 4 point decrease in score (0 pts. for an ACT score of 15 or less). However, if the applicant has been out of high school for 5+ years or has >24 cumulative credit hours, the ACT is not used in the calculation and the total points is revised down to 100 possible.

That's an interesting way to do it...

I'm shooting for a 30 on the ACT. I took the SAT, but that was about 10 years ago. I don't want to take any chances with my application and I'm hoping that a high ACT score (along with my other credentials) will make me an irresistible candidate. The school I'm applying to has only 10% of the student population with an ACT score above 24. I think if I can make it into that 10%, I've got an excellent shot, but I'm going to push myself to get above and beyond that.

Thanks for the input, much appreciated.
