Sheesh! Nursing School Sounds Rough!

So, I see all these threads from new nursing students talking about all the stress and how they feel like they want to cry. Can we hear some good stuff about nursing school too, please? I want to go into nursing, but it'd be nice to know that I'm not going to be killing myself with all of the schooling. :uhoh21:

I thought it was SO stupid that we started last Monday, worked all week and then they threw in a 4-day weekend. Now, I realize that the school must have set it up JUST for us new LPN students!!!:rotfl:

I had a serious melt-down (yes, many a tear was shed this past week), but I think it was mostly that I was SO excited for this to start. My anticipation was high and I really felt on top of things, and then the rug was totally pulled out from under me and the school changed everything they had previously told us. So.... needless to say, I broke down.

But, the sun rises on a new day....

and this morning I woke up (after taking a WHOLE day off... no work... no studying... no nothing!), had some breakfast, and tackled my reading assignments. And, ya know what? It felt pretty awesome, again! I'm a girl.... I had that surge of emotions clashing! It happens.

But, I'm reading my textbooks and continuing to fall in love with this amazing profession. That's right... after ONE week of reading assignments, I'm ruined for anything else! This is already what I love, and there's NO turning back. Already, it is so fantastically rewarding.

Blessings, and know that with the bad, there is ALWAYS something good around the corner,

I think my favorite things are, of course, learning new things and being challenged by them and having a whole group of "sisters" who are going through the same thing and are there to back you up & answer questions & tell you that we are going to make it through this. Oh, and I love hearing my hubby on the phone with his friends or family, bragging about how much work I have to do and what a good grade I made on the last test, etc. It's kind of nice to make your family proud!
