Hi everyone,
I am presenting in two days a short history of german settlers to the US and Canada. My area of focus is Protestant German settlers, not the Amish or Mennonite.
I am finding this population group very difficult to research as most everything I find looks at the Amish.
If anyone can point to a reliable webpage or article I would greatly thankful.

Z, I live in a heavily populated area of German descendents in Ohio, many Protestant, there are German clubs speaking hi and lo German. My MIL speaks German fluently.
I would definately check out Ohio, at least the farm country.
You could do a Google search as previously suggested, maybe try German Clubs. Polka Fests are very popular in this area too.
