Hey guys I am filling out applications and some application want a statement verifying I am a first generation college student. I was wondering how much I am supposed to write. I answered the question in 2 sentences. I feel like that is not enough, but at the same time I do not know what else to write. I have the same problem with language proficiency. I answered the question in 2 sentences. Do you guys think that is enough?

Yes. "I am the first person in my family to ever attend college" should be sufficient. However, that said, if it's for a scholarship or something, I'd probably elaborate. (randomly making this up) "My grandparents immigrated here in the 40s, they only had a 3rd grade education. Both my parents are farm laborers and were so busy helping keep food on the table that they had to drop out of school in 6th grade. They worked hard my whole life to ensure that I could get an education, so that I could have a better life than they do." etc. Pull on those heart strings to get that scholarship committee to help you out. ;) I mean, don't make anything up, but just explain why no one else has ever gone to college.
