PEDS/OB and Community good together?

I am enrolled for PEDS/OB and Community (populations) in the fall. It will only be 11 credit hours m,t,& w. Is this do-able? I have done very good in every class thus far besides Med Surg. I hear that Peds is super hard which is why I am only taking 2 classes. I just want to make it out of this semester without being on the edge of failing the entire last quarter!

Also, what are some good ways to study for peds/ob? I have downloaded the NCLEX prep app and have been practicing, but I am seriously terrified for this class!

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I took Peds/OB/community nursing/patho last spring semester and it was definitely doable. Peds is mostly patho based so if you feel comfortable with pathophysiology you should be fine. I used the saunders NCLEX comprehensive book to study for OB and peds and I found it to be VERY helpful. I also found that reading the textbook and doing a 100 or so NCLEX questions a week helped.

You will be busy studying a lot but you can do it!

Specializes in Acute Rehab, Neuro/Trauma, Dialysis.

That is would be considered about an average to light load at the school that I went too. In junior year we have Patho, OB, Med/Surg, and Pharm, and the second semester you have Peds, Med/Surg II, Stats, and community health. It will be a lot of hard work and studying but totally doable. ;)
