Oxygen Therapy and Breathlessness

Hi ! :)

I'm studying Oxygen therapy and I think I'm not understanding that very well.

I know that oxygen therapy is not the treatment for breathlessness (and this is the inability to ventilate enough to satisfy the need for air, right?), but I just can't understand why,can someone, please, explain it that to me ?

Thank you so much !

Breathlessness is not the technical name for what you are describing. Or at least not in the way I understand. But I do understand what you are trying to ask.

You will get better response if you try to explain this yourself so the nurses who come here to help can see that you tried. But to get you started in the right direction, think about this: ventilation and perfusion are two different things. You can force O2 into a patients lungs, but that doesn't mean that their lungs are perfusing the oxygen. What kinds of things can cause this to happen?
