Nursing Student Hopeful

Nursing Students General Students

Calling all current nursing students or nurses- I need your advice.

I am in the process of applying to a second degree BSN program after realizing that working in the field of communications (Television in particular) left me very empty and wasn't an industry that was both an ideal fit, and one I can enjoy. My undergraduate GPA wasn't great (It was a little over a 2.8), but my last semester of taking pre-requisites I managed to get a B+ and 2 A's; it was very hard trying to balance this with a 30 hour work week but I'm glad that I pushed myself.

The question I have is that even with a middling undergraduate GPA- if I did very well on my pre-requisites- and by well I mean a B or higher- and even got some work experience in a hospital as something like a medical scribe or a certified nursing assistant, do I have a reasonable chance of getting into a BSN/ABSN program a year from now?

Also, what would you say is the most challenging aspect of nursing school- I want to prepare myself as much as possible because this is the career that I want to spend my life in.

Thanks!!
