Congrats to all of you :) I have a question though if you all don't mind. I'm thinking that since you're taking the ADN ASN route first , you'll eventually do the RN to BSN Program right? Was it really difficult to get into a BSN program in your areas, and that the ADN ASN program was a backup plan ?

I have my B.S. in Health Science and tried 1-2 of the Accelerated BSN and regular BSN programs. They are very competitive here in FL (I'm sure everywhere else too) so yes, the ADN was my back-up route. I do plan on contiuing with education but am waiting to see what I really love before deciding on a direct entry RN-MSN or going for the Bachelor's then Master's or BSN-DNP direct entry. Lots of choices. Even though it's a longer route, the ADN is a good pace for me and great for clinical experience in the area I live in and plan to live in versus a more expensive BSN and having to move to north or south FL since there's few programs in central FL or they're outrageously expensive.

This is my EXACT situation. I have a Bachelor of Heath Science & I have been accepted into an ADN program. I've thought about Fl when I complete my ADN but now learning that it's expensive...I think I'm changing my mind. Lol.

Aww, didn't want to discourage LOL. It's more so the accelerated programs that are more expensive (at my current school, if I tally up the ADN and then their RN-BSN it's a longer route but about 4k cheaper than accel BSN and I don't have to move, that's where my head was on that option). There are RN-BSN programs here that can be on-campus or online that are dirt cheap. Not BIG name schools, some are local comm colleges but also like University of Central FL has the RN-BSN that comes out to about 7k. I don't know how that compares to other places though.

Yay for everyone! I have also been accepted into a BSN program starting in August! I am soooo nervous and overwhelmed. I am a non traditional student going in this program at 28 years old. I had a lot of hoops to jump through to get here and I couldn't be more happy!!! Congrats to everyone!

I'm starting a BSN program in TX and smiled when I saw your "non-traditional student" quote I smiled; I'm 40 :)! I found out the other day that I'll be attending school with one of my daughter's friends from high school...I was a little speechless...lol

Here's to all of us as we embark on a great adventure! Good luck to you all!
