NLN scores

I was curious if anyone knows what score on the NLN would be considered a 'good' score.

Like what did you all make on your composite score and such. I'm nervous because our school only accepts so many nursing students each semester and the NLN score is 2/3 of what they consider for entry.

Thanks,

I made a 98 but don't know for sure what the pass/fail level is but probably below a 60 is considered failing according to how they grade, then again I could be wrong

I guess it's different in different states. In Arkansas, it's supposed to be out of 200. In order to even be considered you have to get at least 100.

Just anxious is all - will find out soon enough if it was good enough to get accepted.

Thanks

The NLN is graded on a percentile basis. Out of the (let's say) 400 questions that are given, perhaps the top raw score in the entire nation on that particular test day was 375 questions correct. That score with the other top 1% of raw scores makes up the 99th percentile, and the other raw scores are placed in a percentile similar to the above. So if you got a 90 on the NLN, you may have (hypothetically speaking) received 300 correct total answers on the test. Clear as mud?

LOL :rotfl: That is definitely clear as mud :chuckle .

Thanks

I took it last November. We had to have a composite score of atleast 100 to be considered for the program also. I thought it was one of the hardest test I ever took. I scored a 122. That was good enough to get me in our program. ;)

Best of luck to you! :)

I scored a 153 composite, putting me in the 99th percentile and was accepted into the nursing program. We had to have at least a 100 composite.
