need help from students who got into the nursing program!

Nursing Students General Students

hi there!

i'm a student from CSULA, and i'm hoping to get into the nursing program and i was wondering if you could help me estimate my chances of getting in. i'm super worried about whether or not i'll get in. i wouldn't know what to do if i didn't. :o

the prerequisites for our school (and probably most schools) are: anatomy, physiology, chemistry, composition, psychology, philosophy, oral communications, and microbio. my gpa for the prereqs only is a 3.58 and cumulative 3.72. the school also counts the ATI test which i have not taken yet.

please help! thank you! :D

I would suggest talking to the school and finding out if there is anything you can do to maximize your chances of acceptance (i.e. some would prefer previous Medial experience & some don't care, some would like you to take a couple extra classes, etc.). Also, find out what the wait-list is at your school so that when you do apply, if you're not accepted right away you don't feel bad about it. It is not uncommon for schools to have a lengthy wait-list. Study hard for the ATI (sorry, we took the NET, so I don't know how to help you there) and get the best grade you possibly can there. Other than that, just apply and cross your fingers - remember not to feel bad if you have to wait, a wait-list is normal. Best of luck!!!

It really depends on what school you want to go to. I didn't think I had a chance of getting into an RN program. My school is a private school in central PA. pretty much the middle of nowhere. Seems like anyone could get in there. Of course it may be too easy to get in, a lot flunked out the first semester. Look around, you might have to go farther than you planned but there are schools.

No one really knows. I had numbers less than yours and I got in.
