I guess this nursing student is as close as they could come to a nurse . I'm talking to a group of kids about "neighborhood workers". I'm bringing my stethoscope and some bandaids (these are *little* kids) and I'm definitely going to throw in some talk about germs and hand-washing. Anything else?

Sounds great. I would just mention that both boys and girls can be nurses. Good luck. Let us know how it goes. :)
It was fun! They loved the stethoscope (I brought alcohol wipes) and once I explained the difference between nurses and dental techs, we were fine.
You know, it was great just putting on my old CNA class scrubs and feeling like being a nurse isn't too far away. It's funny, at my CC, it's kind of a badge of honor to wear our navy, slouchy scrubs around campus. The only thing cooler than wearing scrubs to class is wearing scrubs while taking notes with a drug rep pen :) .
Anyway, everyone went home wearing either a care bear or spiderman bandaid knowing that BOTH boys and girls can grow up and be nurses. Thanks for the suggestion, Tweety.
