Mental Healath exam

Hey everyone!

So I had my first test for my Mental Health class I am taking (this is my second semester for my ADN program) and it was very confusing. The second year students had warned us that this is the class in our program that students have had the most trouble with so I was expecting some difficulty, however it was still dismaying. I would love some advice on how to study for this class? I read the chapters in their entirety and wrote what I thought were pretty good notes. The questions were N-ClEX style which our other classes have too, but they were more "scenario" based and I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good resource for practice problems like these? Our ATI questions are not like the ones on we received on our test. For Fundamentals and Pharm, ATI was helpful.... Also the practice books I normally use to help me study for my other classes don't seem to be similar either. So If anyone has a good suggestion for a great Mental Health resource to use for studying or a wbsite that has a good supply of practice questions for the subject I'd really appreciate it! Usually when I google for NCLEX questions I find practice tests that have a lil bit of everything, I'd love it if I could find some just for Mental health...Thank you for your time and any of the help you might give!! :)

Without knowing how your professor teaches, it is hard to say what would work best for you. Personally, I enjoyed my Psych class and my professor was amazing. She lectured from experience with lots of humor in between, so the most we had to do is review our ppts. To be honest I don't think I ever opened my text book. Good luck!

ugh well so far our prof is just using "ready made" slides professors get along with their text book. Its straight from the publisher. Our lecture is once a week one a thurs, then we have the test online on Friday. We get until Monday a midnight to take the test....The first lecture we had she skipped through 10-15 slides and said we didn't need to know certain things, then they were on the test. I'm glad I didn't take her word for it otherwise I would have failed the test like most of my class did :( She also said we most likely wont have time to go over the test in class. So I made an appointment with an adviser so that I can look my test over because we are not allowed to keep any of our tests. I'm hoping our lectures will get better, but I was asking for materials here because I do not have a lot of confidence in my professor giving us direction on what she is looking for or using on her exams.

I hate ppts like that. I much prefer when the professors put thought into their lesson. Maybe just study the ppts and only go to your book to clarify material and look over the boxes of focused material.
