Hi!
I have applied to nursing school for Fall 2005 admission. The program is for day admission. I would really like to quit my current job and get a part time job to pay for my car note and insurance. Does anybody have any suggestions on where I can obtain reasonably priced medical insurance? I am a little nervous giving up my insurance since it is so good.
I am normally never sick but I had gastric bypass 2 1/2 years ago and my luck something will go wrong and I do not have any insurance.
Thanks

I shopped policies on ehealthinsurance.com and bought a Blue Cross PPO that was only like $60/mo. The policy ended up sucking. I could only go to the doctor twice a year plus my pap. The labs for my pap weren't covered. I switched to Kaiser which is expensive but I've always like Kaiser. I think I pay $160/mo.

Did you check with the school? Schools often provide access to a group health care plan for their students through a student association or something similar. Both times I went to graduate school, this is what I did.
