Luzerne County Community College anyone?

Nursing Students General Students

Hello! This is a complete shot in the dark but I've seen many posts from students at LCCC on here and am hoping this reaches some students who wouldn't mind sharing some info!

I just was accepted into the evening nursing program for this fall! I'm beyond excited, but scared to death that it won't fit into my life. And trying to get information from any of the staff is like pulling teeth!! I mean seriously, is it just me?

Is or has anyone been enrolled in the evening program? Is it possible to get classes from 5pm onward? My work hours are 8-4:30 M-F and will be very hard to negotiate. And how possible is it to get weekend clinicals? I also saw someone post about driving an hour and a half to clinicals?! That wouldn't be possible for me on a weeknight unless I can start at 6pm.

I have e-mailed some staff and got some information, but I'm scared to death I will register for it and not be able to juggle the program in my life schedule, all I'm asking for is a concrete schedule or at least a concrete range! Also, what expenses can I expect to have outside of tuition?

I'm afraid to tell any staff I talk to what my concerns are, as if I will lose my seat because I'm unsure whether I can commit since I can't get straight answers. But I did hear that you can defer your acceptance? How does that work? I'm going to call my advisor on Monday because I've seen a new one posted in my WebAdvisor so maybe she can help, but I'm not expecting much because I feel like nobody wants to deal with my questions :-(

I am determined to make my dreams come true! I appreciate any insight, thank you :-)
