This was supposed to be my big grand finale of leaving corporate today...

Well I have been asked to work on Mondays and Saturdays, so no going away party for ole' Bucky. They posted the job in all the major papers and only 3 people responded  Hello...this is ATLANTA....I know people need a job right now.

My friends are saying why complain, at least you have a job....I know I know...but I don't know why I don't feel happy about it. :stone

At-lanta! My husband has wanted to move there for years. I'm terrified of big cities though... lived in a REALLY small town my whole life. :)

So I guess you're keeping the job? Will they keep looking for someone or are you going to be staying on indefinately?

Sorry to hear you're feeling discouraged! :(

Yes, I was also hoping to have my "grand finale" in leaving Corporate America, but in order to receive my Service Quality Award bonus (which will help pay for tuition, or pay off some bills), I have to be employed on 5 Sept, and I was planning on my last day at work being 27 August, so I could take a few days between fulltime work and fulltime school (classes start 2 Sept).

But it is well worth the extra funds, so I will come in on the days I don't have class (Monday, Thursday and half day Friday) to continue "training" my replacement, who happens to be my best friend here at work.

Good news Manna, 4 people came in on short notice for an interview! The first lady was not so good.

The second lady was really sharp and we had a lengthy conversation about her background and I gave her plenty of pointers on what they were looking for. I hope they give her a chance.

I need all of my study time and I am not pressed to work a part time job my first semester. It would limit my opportunities of working in a hospital, as I have experience as a phlebotomist.

I feel better after knowing 4 people are coming. 2 more are on the way.

Oh, I'm so glad for you! Hope one of them works out... do you have any say-so in the hiring process for your replacement?

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you! :)

I'll be happy to get out of the corporate arena to jump right into the corporate hospital arena :)
