Hey everyone, I was accepted into nursing school back in May 2012, and now the semster start in a week, Aug 27th. That was the fastest time has ever moved. I think that I am mostly prepared. I'm just really nervous that I won't be able to keep up witht the workload. I also just got my CNA licnece and now I cannot decide where I want to get a job. Any thoughts on being in nursing school and working as a CNA? I am just a cashier right now. Any tips on school would be great! Thanks.

Hi! I am also a nursing student and work part time as a CNA/student nurse in our local hospital (part time for me is 9 shifts in a six week period). It was the best decision I ever made! I am on the med/surg floor. I now feel much more comfortable in the hospital setting, gain patient care experience every time I work and get to watch nurses at work. Often, when the RN knows your a nursing student many of them are willing to let you watch them do procedures or share their knowledge. It has been a great learning experience. :)

Good Luck!

I work as a nurse tech/extern in the hospital and I LOVE it. Just being in the hopsital setting has made me a much better student. You become much more comfortable in the clinical setting and you might possibly work where you will end up doing clinicals! Its a major advantage to know the equipment and floors before a clinical day.
