Hi, I just received my acceptance letter into the nursing program and I am super excited, but nervous as well. Any advice on ANYTHING would be great; what should I expect, care plan advice, etc. Like I said anything and everything please, don't hold back. Thanks!

Ahaha well this made my day.

lol really? you never heard that before, I ran into a few posts saying something about compressions socks and ted hose, that even guys were wearing the thigh highs to prevent varicose veins and all the other fun stuff lol

Ahah I've never heard that! Well, couldn't hurt :)

Psych up NOW by reminding yourself that this is what you have been looking forward to so that your mind and attitude are prepared to persevere despite all challenges you will be facing. When I entered nursing school, I had mental battles to fight in that I thought everybody else was so-o-o-o smart and I was so-o-o-o-o dumb. Remember, you are NOT dumb or you wouldn't have been accepted to the program. A prepared mental outlook and attitude are very important!

Specializes in L&D, infusion, urology.
I heard compression socks also are a must once you start clinicals

I sometimes do compression socks (I like ProCompression and CEP), but mostly it's after I've done a long run and will need the extra support.

Congratulations!! Enjoy your free time now, you won't have a lot of it during school!!
