Interviews for Accelerated program

Hello to all:

Tomorow I will be interviewing with the Dean of Nursing of Molloy College to enter their Dual Degree Nursing Program. I have a business administratin degree and worried about the type of questions that might be asked. In those who pursued a nursing degree after finishing with another, what type of questions do they ask? Any examples would be great.

Thanks to all in advance

I have a business degree as well. Honesty is the best policy - what got you into nursing? Is there someone in medicine close to you? How realistic a view do you have of the nursing world? The schools want to weed out the "helping-the-sick-is-my-lifelong-dream" and "I'm-only-attending-school-to-be-a-practitioner" types. They want students whom have a genuine interest in nursing as well as a working knowledge of the grunt work. Let us know how it goes..........

Hi, I've applied to such a program and already went through an interview. I think a good way to prepare is to search the internet for advice on "interviews for health professions" You should find some questions to think about. One that I remember and was definitely prepared for was: "What qualities do you think a nurse should have?" Actually, I had just seen this on a thread here on allnurses, so perusing the boards is a good idea too!

Good luck!

I also have a business degree and I just went through an interview about 2 weeks ago for a nursing program. Some of the questions they asked were:

What do you think a nurse's role is?

Tell us about your first degree.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Why do you want to pursue our nursing program?

Tell us about your work experience.

What is your learning style? (i thought that was an odd question)

Those are the ones I can remember. I hope that helps. Good luck!
