I'm about to be a second year BSN student at a really competitive nursing program and I need some insight.

I'm not crazy about nursing..at all. The only reason I chose nursing for undergrad is because I want to go to grad school for a masters in public health with a focus on infectious diesease epidemiology&international health. So i originally was doing biology but I figured nursing would go better with what i wanted to do for grad school however like i said im not crazy about nursing at all.

With that said I only have 1year and some change until i graduate so i decided to start planning for grad school. The MPH programs i'm going to apply to are very competitive so to make myself a competitive applicant i need to have internships on my resume. I got an internship for the fall with an organization that i REALLY want to work for after grad school however i'm worried because i'm not sure if i'll be able to juggle school, clinicals, and an internship effectively.

The internship requires me working 10-15 hours/week which is pretty much the equivalent of a part time job.

So with that said is it wise for me to take the internship? I dont want my GPA to plummit due to me not being able to juggle it all but at the same time i reaaally need it for my resume...so im kind of not sure what to choose :(

I use to arrange my schedule so it would have the least impact. I would do it on breaks, and when my workload was low at school. So on breaks I would cram in as many hours as I could, and then during the semester I had a light load. When my schedule got too busy, I ended up coming only on breaks.

I think it's best to be an intern during the summers. Many do have jobs thought while in school, so it really depends on you.
