The question says that the patient had a 88% from the pulse oximeter reading?
Is 88% good or not?

Also while checking the patient - have them take a couple of deep breaths in thru their nose, then breathe normal. The pulse ox should rise because sometimes if they are sleeping & breathing with their mouth open or if they are talking a lot, the pulse ox might be lower than what you want. We were taught that if it drops below 92%, start doing some interventions. Once they close their mouth & take a couple of good deep breaths, the sat rate will rise pretty quickly.
