Had my orientation yesterday.

dag...i can't believe they said that!! the worst thing my instructors said was that we shouldn't work because it's very time-consuming. i had one instance while i was taking fundamentals, during a break i had my head on the desk...my instructor came up and asked if i was tired. i told her that i was and that i work third shift and on that day (mondays), i would leave work at 7:30am to be at school from 8:30-2p and at the hospital from 3-4:20. she said that if i didn't do well on my first test, we were going to have to 'discuss' my working situation. i said "well, with all due respect mrs. c...i don't have a choice whether or not to work, i will do my best, and if i don't pass, there is really nothing to discuss...i don't have anyone taking care of me." well, she saw me in the hallway the next week after she'd graded the tests and told me "well i guess we don't need to have that conversation afterall...you made the highest grade in the class."

i was so proud.

i said all that to say this. don't be afraid, you know what you are capable of, and you know what you want. if being a nurse is what you want, you will be able to do it. time management is very important. also remember, you aren't working on anyone else's timetable but yours. don't feel bad if you have to take a lighter load one semester because you have family responsibilities. although i am anxious to get out of school, if i thought i couldn't handle it...i would cut back. i wish you good luck, and just relax, relate, release!!
