Hey everyone! I just called up the school because it's been 5 long weeks since I had my interview & I hadn't recived anything in the mail. I had called a couple weeks ago and they said they were going to send the letters out but I never got one. I called the school and said "Hi, this is Kay ___ and I was wondering if the acceptance/denied letters were going to be sent out this week". She laughed and said, you know, we were just talking about you and I just finished typing up your letter a minute ago." I said, "oh really?". She said, "yeah, you were accepted, congrats! I was like OOHHH YEAH!!! So, I should get my letter tomorrow or the day after that. I am so glad! I was going NUTS! Now I need to see if I can get any finacial aid from some place. The program is pretty darn expensive. My kids (4, 20 months) will be in daycare when I start school in Aug. so I've got to get that figured out---I don't work so it will be a strain on us (money wise)... I just wanted to share the good news. I won't be able to tell my hubby until this evening since he's out of town. bums. Well, thanks for listening!

Kay

Way to go, Kay!! Congrats!

Well, first everyone that wants in the program signs up, then there comes a test and whoever passes the test gets an interview. The interview is to see basically if you will be able to handle the program and the reasons why you want to be a nurse. That way when they pick out the 30 students a year (in my school that is) out of the many people who have applied they get the best applicants. They wouldn't want to turn away someone who was genuine in their persuit in the nursing field and who could finish & do well in the program for someone who really couldn't pay/complete it. This is why they do the interview. :)

Thanks everyone!

Kay, congratulations!!! You will be terrilby busy for the next year but believe me...it will be so worth it. Just take one day at a time. I am sure you will get through it with flying colors!
