Fail Cna as nursing student

I'm from Illinois and was able to take the Cna test without taking the course since I have a year of clinicals finished. I already am working my job as a Cna because I get an automatic 120 days until I need my license proved. BUT I failed the Cna test.. I am retaking it again this week but what happens if I fail it? Will I get fired?

Unfortunately, you might be fired if you don't pass the test and your 120 days is up. You need to figure out why you failed? Did you have a lot of anxiety? Did you not know enough of the wrote memorization information?

In nursing school we were not taught everything that a Cna learns in their course.. So many answers I just did not know. I've been reading a Cna book to prepare for the next one though. Do you think it would be smarter for me to resign or to take the test and see how I do?

That's a red flag for me. In order to supervise a CNA you need to be able to know what they know and what they don't know. If you have to, purchase a CNA textbook and comb through it.

If I were you I would cram as much as I can, especially based off what you felt you didn't know the first time around. Then I would try the test again. If you're not successful this time, I would study for a more extended period of time and then try again.
