FCP stands for family care plan..It is like NCP but the only difference, this is for the family. NCP is for the individual patient while FCP is for the whole family. you are going to assess the health of the family and make nursing interventions on the health problems that you have found out. it seems like in your school you don't have FCP, rigth?

i am an rn and been doing care plans for over 30 years. i just didn't recognize the abbreviation. you approach this the same as you approach the care plan for an individual and apply the nursing process. use any assessment tool for assessing the health of the family unit that you have available. several of the nanda diagnoses are designed to be used for families. communities can also be assessed. we had a huge community care plan due when i was in my bsn program and we had to find our own assessment information. good luck!

Oh, I'm so sorry if i offended you. But i would like to ask if you have your FCPs when you where in your BSN program? how many ethiology did you have back then? because for the 2nd level of assessment, it's quite confusing. Sometimes i don't know what is the best assessment for a particular problem. That's why i am having difficult doing it. doing ICP for me is quite easy than doing FCPs. But my teacher told us that FCPs are more easier than NCPs because there are several nursing diagnosis listed and its quite confusing.
