I went to the a surgery 2day......very interesting......it was a procedure where the surgeon V-cutted the back a quadraplegic's thigh to stretch the skin in order to cover an ulcer......I mainly stayed w/ the CRNA (Nurse Anesthetist) because that is what I'm going to do.......I just wanted to share my OR experience w/ ya'll.......I'll holla'......
P.S- I have another one next week, a femoral artery bypass.......

That had to be really interesting!! I can't wait. We do bedbaths etc next semester (boorrrriiinnggg...done 1,000's already) and go to a LTC facility. Guess I gotta do what I gotta do!! We get to the really interesting rotations next fall...can't wait. Let us know about your next experience!!!

Wow! I can't wait to do my surgical rotation (won't be until this summer).
Essarge: LTC is not fun in a lot of ways, but they do get *a lot* of meds, which is pretty interesting. You'll probably also get to do lots of injections (lots of people on insulin). I've only done one bedbath this quarter -- I've done a couple of showers, though. I think the charts are really interesting, too. Most of them have tons of history.
