Dealing with ADD/ADHD as a Nursing Student?

Just curious if anyone else is dealing with the same issues? I'm on Addrall XR and it seems to be helping, but I'm still trying to find the "right" dose/med after 39 years on this planet! My 12 year old son has always had my impulsiveness, but has managed to deal rather well. He's in gifted and talented and for the most part, his teachers understand and respect him. It's a different story for his dear old mom, though.

A couple of weeks ago, during clinical skills, we were asked to solve a dosage calculation problem. I had the answer and when the instructor looked at me as if she wanted an answer, I gave it to her. She said "I wanted you to keep the answer to yourself so everyone else could solve the problem first!!" Yes, I know I'm impulsive, but when you're looking at me like that, I assume you want a response!!! I half-jokingly told her "I'm sorry, I have ADD, but I'm on medication" to which she replied "Yes, I know....OOOOhhh pick me, pick me!!!" I actually had respect for this woman until that moment! She was the director of my school's nursing program until this semester when she stepped down to become an instructor...because she loves teaching!!! Seems she missed out on "Compassion 101"!!!

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else is dealing with ADD / ADHD and how you're managing the information overload during Nursing School.

There's nothing I want to do more than become a nurse.:nurse: Just trying to figure out how to absorb all this info and stay focused so I can get through it all!
