Choosing a Stethoscope - Littman Master Classic II vs. Classic II S.E.

Hi,

I start my clinicals in the fall and am deciding between Littman's Master Classic II and Classic II S.E. stethoscopes. The Master Classic II has better sound quality, you don't have to flip the head depending on what you are auscultating, and the oval shape is easier to fit under a bp cuff. However I've heard the Classic II S.E. is easier to learn with for beginners.

My scholarships will cover my stethoscope so I'm not worried about price. Just want to know if any of you have one of these, what you think of it, and what you have heard regarding usage of these stethoscopes?

Thanks in advance!

My mom bought me a stethoscope for nursing school for Christmas the month before I started clinicals. It was a ceapie stethoscope and I had NO IDEA how much it sucked until I got my Classic II SE. When I got it out of the box I tested it out and was like, "OMG I can actually hear stuff with this thing " LOL.

I started out with a Cardiology III, love it! worth every doll hair
