Bsn..

Nursing Students General Students

Published

Hello all. I am debating LPN or ADN but I am thinking that maybe I should just go all the way to BSN now. I am going to take all the pre req that I can but I have 2 years before I can go thru nursing classes full time, so can someone tell me what classes there are for the BSN program and maybe I can take them too.

Thanks!!!

Trish

you are getting advice from the wrong people. Save yourself time and $$$ by contacting the nursing dept. of the school to which you plan to graduate. They have printed material to help you decide. Be careful that you do not take courses that "transfer" but do not apply towards your degree. They end up being expensive electives. I agree that a BSN is the way to go. No point in closing doors to opportunities and pay increases!

The different requirements for BSN programs will vary from school to school, best bet would be to check with your local college.

Of course, you could probably just generally guess that at least all of them would require some form of composition (2 semesters), history (2 semesters), math (2 semesters), literature, fine arts, humanities, sciences (A&P, micro, chem, etc), and then others as the school's curriculum dictates (perhaps ethics, foreign languages, health/PE, etc)

If you have any college credits already done (like a previous degree) look into a BSN program- the credits transfer.
