Best nursing journals to subscribe too.

Nursing Students General Students

I'm curious as to what consensus there is in regards to nursing journals. I want to subscribe to 2-3 if possible and I was wondering what the highest regarded ones are. I know there are specialist journals, but I am looking for more of a general nursing journal for now. I just want something I can use as a resource to keep current in the field to somewhat set me apart from others.

If you join ANA you will automatically get a journal that is juried (peers making sure certain parameters are followed in research). RN is not juried, but is interesting to read. Nursing 2012 is not juried, but has a higher level of articles than RN. At some point I dropped RN and Nursing 2012 to pay for ANA and my speciality journal.

If you ever find a specialty you think could be your niche, I highly recommend subscribing. I get so excited when I get mine, and it really recharges my drive to do well.

I like Nursing Made Incredibly Easy, too. It simplifies a lot of complex concepts and I've always found things related to what we are doing in class. It's not like the BEST way to study, it's more like an adjunct to studying. I suggest that one for while you're in school!

I currently have subscriptions to Nursing 2012, Nursing made incredibly easy, and American Journal of Nursing. They're all pretty great IMO, and I'm a student currently. They're pretty general, and really interesting.

Awesome, thanks for the replies. I will look into getting some of these journals.
