Anyone applying to Keiser RN program in May 2015

I'm looking for any students that are applying to Keiser University Fort Lauderdale RN program for May 2015. I'm excited to get started and have finished all my pre-requisites. Also I would like to hear any feedback from nursing students that are already in this program or have graduated from this program.

Reason I chose Nursing: I already have a BS degree in exercise physiology and worked in healthcare for quite some time in both administrative roles and patient care. I always wanted to be a nurse but at one point decided to go to school to become a physician assistant until I found out how competitive and hard it was to get into PA school. Now I'm finally embarking on my journey to become a RN. A little nervous and excited at the same time.

Why I chose Keiser: I looked at a few different schools (Broward, Miami Dade, Keiser) I decided to go with Keiser because Dade and Broward were sending me on a wild goose chase for in terms of requirements and taking a few classes over to get admitted to their programs. Keiser RN program is accredited by the ACEN and they didn't give me as much as a headache as Broward and Dade. I'm well aware of the cost and being as though I already graduated from another private university (Barry) the cost is a lot cheaper then what I paid for my BS degree so I'm not to hung up over the cost. I'm more concerned with the quality of the program NCLEX passing rate.

Any information would be helpful.

There is a difference in a private school and a private for profit school. There is a reason they make it so easy to get in.

Thanks for your reply. Although I don't know how you measure "easy" but compared to dade and broward, Kesier don't make it any easier to get into. You still have to have a 3.0 science gpa and an overall 3.0 Gen Ed GPA. You have to furnish 3 letters of recommendation, have a interview with the department director and do really well on the TEAS to gain admittance. However Keiser appeared to be more welcoming. I have to take A&P II over because I got a C and Keiser stated I would be able to take the class over to raise my GPA.

Broward told me I would absolutely not be able to take A&P over at their school even though I took it at another institution. Miami Dade (the original school I took A&P) stated I would be able to take it over through an appeal process but I would need a letter from Broward (the original school I was looking into for nursing) stating that the class need to be repeated to earn a higher grade. When I talked to Broward they informed me that would not provide me such letter because I had already passed the course and therefore is not necessary to take it over. After that response from Broward I gave up on that institution and went with Keiser. Also Keiser is now listed as a non-profit institution.

Im also trying to get in for the May program in WPB. I have my interview on monday. I took the teas test and have completed all my assignments such as recommendation letters,resume,etc etc.. Any tips or advice on how to prepare? Thank you

Hi! I was recently accepted in the RN program at the FLL campus! I have a co-workers girlfriend that graduated there 2 years ago, and he is finishing up his RT program there, both were happy with their experience. Are you still planning on attending?
