A stupid question on Sympathetic nerve system

If one of the responses of sympathetic nervous system make urine output decreased(fight or flight), why we want to go pee when it is stimulated? ex. most people want to go pee before the exam start? ThX a lot

i honestly think its psychological more than anything kind of like when we're little our parents would make us go to the bathroom before we left on a trip you know just in case...idk just going out on a limb here :)

I know this is an old topic but it came up in a patho class that I am taking and I thought I did understand but after reading these posts, I am questioning myself.

I find if I pee before I exercise(stress). That I can get through an hour and a half and not have to pee, even while drinking lots of water.

Now if I had a full bladder then exercised, I am not sure how that would work out. But it got me thinking.

ADH and aldosterone retain water and sodium so that we do not become dehydrated(Fight or flight response). Blood flow to our kidney decreases. Maybe if one has a full bladder then gets stressed the bladder muscles just let go.

I really have nothing to add to this except that it gives me a new way of looking at the phrase "scared enough to pee your pants":lol2:

And it is a good discussion and review of the SNS/PNS and ANS.
