What kind of test are done for sepsis and what is it?

Blood cultures, and sepsis is basically an infection of the blood (usually caused by infection elsewhere).

May I suggest google. Without going into detail, and increasing the chances of getting something wrong :chuckle , yes you could get septic from any type of wound that becomes infectious especially if you have a compromised immune system. The main sympton is hyperthermia.
