Although the actual NursesTakeDC event has already taken place, the movement for Safe Staffing is far from over. Beth Hawkes (Nurse Beth) and Keith Carlson (Nurse Keith) will be sharing a recap activities that took place at the #NursesTakeDC rally during a facebook Live Event hosted by allnurses on their Nurses Rock facebook page on Wednesday, May 9th at 8:30 pm EST.

Can you think of a better way to celebrate Nurses Week than getting fired up about a cause that is so important to nurses and the nursing profession? Learn what you can and must do to help nurses receive the Safe Staffing mandates that they need. This is not just for nurses; it is for everyone who may ever darken the doors of the health system as a healthcare professional, patient, family, etc. Unsafe working conditions are bad for everyone.

For me, being in DC was fantastic! I can tell you, as part of the NursesTakeDC rally, I was so proud to be able to walk into the Hart Senate Office Building and have breakfast with the 2 Senators from my state and ask for their support and vote on Senate Bill S 1063 - Nurse Staffing Standards for Hospital Patient Safety and Quality Care Act of 2017. HR 2392 - Nurse Staffing Standards for Hospital Patient Safety and Quality Care Act of 2017 is the version for the House.
