Preceptor in Small Community Hospital

I am doing precepting in a welcoming small community hospital. We have a rural status. Our nurses take 7 patients each on a busy telemetry unit. Its unbelieveable what we can do. A couple things we don't have. We don't have critical nurses who eat the young. We have only a few whiners and complainers. Sure we complain to authorities and request help, but not the daily whine sessions, as most of us work at work. When I started at the big city hospital, new grads were leaving in droves from the med/surg unit where a particular Nurse Manager was really mean. No one would listen to me that the problem was her. She was the administrator's friend.
