Nurses General Nursing

Hello, I am an LPN working in a LTC skilled unit. I have frustrations regarding the staffing ratio and the amount of responsibilities. We work nonstop without a break and still cannot get done. Our nurse manager has even had tears in her eyes this past week due to us being overwhelmed with higher acuity levels coming in and low staffing. No one is listening and I feel like I am set up to fail when I walk in the door. My ultimate concern is that I am ready to start school for my RN and I do not want more of the same in the hospital. I do realize that nursing is very difficult I love the challenge and care about my patients. Also there are going to be plenty of bad days. But... Is this the way it is everywhere?? Those of you who have worked in various field esp. LTC skilled and then went on to another type of nursing I would love to hear from you. I really don't want to leave nursing but I am already burning out. Thanks so much
