Infertility nursing?? poss new job??

Nurses General Nursing

I'm curious to know if anyone out there knows anything related to infertility nursing? What is it like? I am getting ready to transfer into a new posn and I am scanning several options.

I am interested in infertilty, because I know first hand what its like. But being a employee verus the pt. is quite different. However, I am very compassionate to this field. My other opportunities could be same day surgery (pre-op and post-up pts - prn) or a physicians office 20hrs./week - doing basic nursing, or working in a assisted living facility - which is prob really flexible, but my last choice.

I'm a little nervous about what to do. I have med-surg and psych as my experience - neither of which were good experiences, (psych was a bad posn due to poor mgmt). I am trying to stay working PT with my facilty because they do cover infertility - but my spouse says he wants to wait and not pursue this right now. So I am not sure it matters whether I work prn or Pt or Ft. The only reason I am thinking prn is so if I completely dislike the posn - I'm not stuck in a dreaded schedule for a whole year. With prn you have tons of flexibilty. I wish I could test drive all these positions and see what they are like! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Sorry its such a long post, Thanks!
