Environmental Health Nursing, anyone in this field?

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I've been doing a lot of research on how to combine my interest and future career in nursing with my passion for the environment. I've found a few articles about this new and still developing field of nursing called Environmental Nursing. From my reading I understand that this field is trying to link human health to environmental issues and they are doing it with nurses. It doesn't seem to be the same as the traditional Occupational and Environmental Health degree that's offered at a lot of schools because you don't work with company employees or on job sites. It's more like working with government agencies/officials trying to make our air, water, and land safer for people and wildlife by using health science fact to get laws, toxin emission standards, ect. passed. I've also only found one school offering this graduate degree, the University of Maryland. It sounds perfect for me but because it's still so new I was wondering if anyone works in this field or is working towards a career like this, knows about other schools offering it or really knows anything about it at all. Any advice or knowledge would be great! Thanks all!
