Anybody use an electronic stethoscope?

They look so neat, especially the Littman model that has the digital readout and recording capability. They're awfully expensive though, but as I'm getting ready for grad school I'm half tempted to buy one. Just wondered if anyone else has one, and what they think about it.

So what happens when the battery goes bad? sorry, I gotta know for myself....
