ADN to BSN or MSN with a BA backround

Ciao!

This is my first time partaking in a thread! I am super excited to join the conversation. I am looking for some insight regarding my predicament. I completed and obtained a B.A. a few years ago then received my calling to become a nurse. I decided to go the ADN route because I wasn't the BEST student in my younger years and accelerated BSN programs wouldn't look at me. Now I have less than 6 months left in my ADN program and have a very strong GPA. Wish I was this dedicated back then, live and learn :) Anyway, I know that the job market isn't really warm to new grads much less RNs without a BSN. So my question is two fold, will my bachelors degree make me any more competitive as a new grad?

I have been looking into a few RN-BSN programs locally. One recruiter said it's smarter and more cost effective to enter into their MSN program. Long term I plan on obtaining my MSN but will forgoing the BSN hurt me in terms of job potential and training?

Can't wait to hear from you!
